Charlie graduated with a degree in Modern Languages from Oxford University. Upon graduating he worked in corporate finance at Lazard in the real estate advisory group, where he was part of a market leading team that advised a number of quoted property companies on M&A transactions and private equity groups investing in asset-backed transactions.
Charlie joined Moorfield in 2005 and is responsible for the corporate and alternative assets team’s investments. Corporate investments are classified by us as opportunities that are asset backed but which are not direct asset purchases. This covers a wide range of opportunities, including investments through corporate vehicles, joint ventures, debt and restructurings. As well as covering the traditional property sectors, this team also frequently originates and manages investments in alternative real estate sectors such as hotels, hostels, pubs, student accommodation, retirement villages and residential. It can involve acquiring an operating business alongside the real estate asset base, or the real estate in a sale and leaseback transaction, or indirect investment through acquisition of shares or debt.
Charlie is a member of the Investment Property Forum (IPF).
