Marc Gilbard - Executive Chairman and co CEO

Marc is the Executive Chair and co-Chief Executive Officer of Moorfield Group where he Chairs the Group Board together with the Strategy, Investment, Remuneration and Audit & Risk Committees. Marc assumed management control of Moorfield Group in 1996 and immediately founded the Company’s private equity real estate strategy. He subsequently led Moorfield’s transformation from a small company listed on the London Stock Exchange into one of the leading UK Private Equity Real Estate fund managers. Over the last 28 years Moorfield has invested throughout the UK in both the Traditional and Alternative real estate sectors, translating political, economic and societal macro trends into real estate investment themes. Moorfield has been at the vanguard of many of the alternative real estate sectors in the UK.

Marc is a Chartered Surveyor and initially specialised in investment and development finance and then became a top-rated real estate equity analyst and advisor prior to becoming a private equity investor.  Marc has worked for leading surveying firms and investment banks including Gerald Eve (Newmark), Edward Erdman (Colliers), UBS, NatWest Markets and Goldman Sachs. In October 2011, the Howard de Walden Estate appointed Marc to its Board as a Non-Executive Director and he now Chairs the Investment Committee and serves on the Audit Committee. In April 2016, Marc became Chair of Audley Group, the retirement village developer and operator, Chair of the Investment and Remuneration Committees and serves as a member of the Audit & Risk Committee. Marc is a Member of the Leaders Council of the British Property Federation (BPF), a Member of the Property Advisory Group to the Bank of England, a Member of the Investment Property Forum (IPF) and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) where he also serves on the Investment Property Forum. Marc sits on the Editorial Board of the Academy of Real Assets, is a Patron of Land Aid and a signatory to the CEO Commitments of Real Estate Balance.

Charles Ferguson-Davie - co Chief Executive and Chief Investment Officer

Charlie joined Moorfield in 2005 and as co-CEO is responsible for running the business alongside Marc. Charlie has been on the Moorfield Group Board since 2011, became CIO in 2013 and is on the Investment and Remuneration Committees and chairs the Operational Board. As Chief Investment Officer Charlie is responsible for overseeing investment strategy and portfolio construction and carries out a leading fundraising role.

Since 2005, Moorfield has raised six discretionary funds and established a series of co-investment vehicles and joint ventures, including a private REIT. Over the period Moorfield has increasingly focused on the living and storage sectors, delivering strong returns for investors.

Charlie has a degree in Modern Languages from Oxford University and prior to joining Moorfield he worked in corporate finance at Lazard in the real estate advisory group. Whilst at Lazard he was part of a market leading team that advised a number of listed property companies on M&A transactions and private equity groups investing in asset-backed transactions.

Charlie has advised on a number of industry committees, including the BPF Commercial Property Forum, the BPF Build to Rent group, the IPF Indirect Property Funds Group, and the Mayor of London’s Homes for Londoners Board on New Delivery Models. Charlie is also a non-executive director on the Audley Group Board and on the Investment, Remuneration and Audit & Risk Committees.

Jane Hollinshead - Non-Executive Director

Jane is a Managing Director of Canary Wharf Group with overall executive responsibility for People, Customer Experience and Social Value. Prior to joining Canary Wharf Group in 2021, Jane ran her own strategic consultancy business, advising British Land plc, the British Property Federation, Knight Frank and Savills.

She was formerly a Non-Executive Director of Notting Hill Genesis Housing Association, Chair of its Operations Committee and a Member of its Nominations Committee and Remuneration Committee. Jane was also a Board member of Pathways to Property, an initiative focussed on increasing social mobility within the real estate industry, led by RREF, Henley Business School and supported by the Sutton Trust.

Jane is a qualified solicitor and prior to founding her consultancy business, had a twenty-year career in the City as an Equity Partner and Real Estate Sector Head at  Addleshaw Goddard, where she was also a Member of its UK Governance Board.  She graduated with a degree in Law from the London School of Economics.

Sadie Malim - Chief Legal & Corporate Development Officer

Sadie joined Moorfield in 2007 and sits on the Main Board as Chief Legal & Corporate Development Officer.  She is responsible for overseeing various areas of the business including strategic partnerships, legal and ESG as well as working closely with the Co-CEOs to support product creation and fundraising strategies.

Sadie has an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and a post graduate degree in Law. Prior to joining Moorfield, Sadie worked in the Private Equity group at Clifford Chance where she advised international private equity clients on acquisitions, disposals, MBOs and listings.

Sadie has advised on the BPF Healthcare Committee and Retirement Villages working group.

Steve Hall - Chief Financial Officer

Steve joined Moorfield in 2008 and sits on the Main and Operational Boards as CFO and is Compliance Officer and MLRO of our FCA-regulated investment manager.  He oversees all financial aspects and regulatory requirements of the group. He is responsible for overseeing the structuring of acquisitions and our real estate funds and sits on the board of a number of the companies within the Moorfield Real Estate Funds.

Steve has a degree in Biology from University College London and is a Chartered Accountant. He joined Moorfield from Grant Thornton where he was a senior manager specialising in audit and transaction support for a range of businesses.

Chris Perera – Head of Origination

Chris joined Moorfield in 2013 and is Head of Origination. Chris leads the Origination Team, focusing on the sourcing, analysis and execution of new investment opportunities. Chris has a great deal of experience across many asset types and has led the origination of Moorfield’s activities in logistics, open storage, self storage and healthcare in recent years and has had an active involvement across all sectors that Moorfield has invested in.

Chris is a Chartered Surveyor and holds an MPhil in Real Estate Finance from Cambridge University. He joined Moorfield from LaSalle Investment Management where he worked in the Debt and Special Situations team. Before this he worked across three La Salle managed UK pension funds and previously with the M&A team at Jones Lang LaSalle Corporate Finance.

Hugh Canham - Head of Asset Management

Hugh joined Moorfield in 2011 and is Head of Asset Management. He is principally responsible for the asset management of our Traditional real estate investments.

Hugh is a Chartered Surveyor and has an MA in Property Valuation and Law as well as the IMC (Investment Management Certificate). Hugh joined Moorfield in 2011 from ING Real Estate Investment Management where for five years he was the portfolio manager for the ING UK Property Income Fund (a Guernsey Property Unit Trust). Prior to joining ING, Hugh spent three years working in real estate consultancy and national investment for Lambert Smith Hampton.

Heiko Figge - Head of Operational Asset Management

Heiko joined Moorfield in 2013 and is Head of Operational Asset Management. As such, he is principally responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of our investments, particularly those in the Hospitality, Build To Rent and Student Accommodation sectors. Heiko has brought Moorfield over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having previously managed Guoman & Thistle Hotels as Managing Director, Paramount Hotels as Chief Operating Officer and Marriott Hotels as Operations Director for their regional hotel estate. Heiko now focusses on applying the skills and expertise he learnt in the hospitality industry to our operational assets.

Heiko was educated and trained in Bonn, Germany and is fluent in German and English. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and has advised as a Board Director of the British Hospitality Association and as a Board Director of Springboard UK, a charity that promotes employment opportunities for young and disadvantaged people in the hospitality industry.

Dominic Elliott - Asset Manager

Dominic joined Moorfield in 2023 as an Asset Manager. He is balanced across operational and traditional real estate investments, supporting our single-family housing, student accommodation (houses for multiple occupation and purpose-built) and nursing homes strategies.

Dominic is a Chartered Surveyor and has a MSc in Real Estate from the University of Reading with Distinction. He spent 3 years at Knight Frank prior to joining Moorfield Group, rotating across the Residential arm of the business. This included Student Capital Markets and PRS Valuations before holding a permanent role within the Asset Management team mandated on a large-scale institutionally owned mixed-use portfolio.

 

 

Pablo Hutchinson Nunez - Senior Investment Manager

Pablo joined Moorfield’s Origination Team in 2020. He focuses on sourcing, analysing and executing new investment opportunities within the residential and student sectors. Over the past few years, he has also been actively involved across all of Moorfield’s other investments strategies.

Pablo holds an MSc in Financial Analysis and Fund Management and has a degree in Economics and Finance from Exeter University. Prior to joining Moorfield, he worked in the Investment Banking Division at Citigroup in the Real Estate and Lodging Team where he worked on a variety of European and Global transactions acting as an advisor.

Oliver Wallbridge - Investment Associate

Oliver joined Moorfield in 2021 and is an Investment Associate. Oliver works in the Origination Team focusing on analysis, sourcing and execution of investment opportunities. He has a first-class degree in Land Economy from the University of Cambridge and holds the IMC (Investment Management Certificate). He has also passed level one of the CFA exams.

Oliver joined Moorfield from Aviva Investors, where he worked across multiple teams within the Real Assets business and worked across transactions covering debt and equity investments in real estate.

 

Emily Eban - Investor Relations Manager

Emily joined Moorfield in 2021 as Investor Relations Manager, supporting both existing and prospective investors as well as managing fundraising activities.

Emily has a degree in Economics from Durham University and is a qualified chartered accountant. Prior to Moorfield, Emily was Fund Controller at Inflexion Private Equity Partners, and also has experience in other areas of private markets including Private Debt. Emily started her career at PwC in the Banking and Capital Markets team.

Emilie Crick - Senior Operations Manager

Emilie joined Moorfield in 2021 and is responsible for several areas of our operations that overlap between the finance, capital markets and compliance departments. Prior to joining Moorfield Emilie had been the Finance Director at a number of SMEs, having formerly been a Director at The Royal Bank of Scotland, in their EMEA Credit Risk department. In this role, Emilie specialised in global consumer and retailer corporate lending portfolios focusing on origination, deal structuring and execution of a wide range of financings. She is an ACA qualified Chartered Accountant and has a first class degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Birmingham.

Charlotte Hamilton - Fund Controller

Charlotte has a degree in Chemistry and Mathematics from Durham University, is a qualified ACA accountant having qualified at PwC and holds the IMC (CFA UK Level 4 Certificate in Investment Management). Charlotte joined Moorfield in 2023 and is the Fund Controller for all Moorfield Real Estate Funds, having previously been Head of Fund Accounting at the London CIV, an LGPS asset pooling company and she also worked as a Fund Accountant at BlueBay Asset Management. Her responsibilities include the oversight of all aspects of fund financial management including the financial reporting of the Moorfield Real Estate Funds.

James Lee - Senior Finance Manager

James is a Chartered Management Accountant with a degree in Accounting and Finance. James joined Moorfield in 2013 and as a Senior Finance Manager is responsible for the financial management of a number of the Fund vehicles and investments. James joined Moorfield from real estate fund manager and venture capital firm, Palmer Capital, where he was responsible for the financial management of a number of their fund investments. James has also worked in the finance teams at Guildhouse UK Ltd and at US management consultancy firm JMJ Associates.

Andrew Trafford – Senior Finance Manager

Andrew is a Chartered Certified Accountant with a first-class honours degree in Business and Management. Andrew joined Moorfield in 2012 and is a Senior Finance Manager with responsibility for the financial management of a number of fund and group investments, including all Build to Rent and Student investments.

Prior to joining Moorfield, Andrew spent four years working for Residential Land, a specialist prime central London property consultant where he was responsible for the financial reporting of a number of HNW property portfolios. Before that Andrew worked for Places for People where he was Regional Finance Officer for London and reported on a portfolio of over 10,000 rented homes.

Will Hubble - Finance Manager

Will is a Chartered Management Accountant with a first-class honors degree in Business Marketing. Will joined Moorfield in 2017 and is a Finance Manager where he is responsible for various financial and management reporting functions of Moorfield Group and the financial management of a number of the Fund vehicles.  Prior to joining Moorfield, he worked as a Management Accountant for Banijay Group, the largest independent content creation Group for television and multimedia platforms, where he was responsible for the financial reporting of the distribution department.

Rohan Punia - Accounts Assistant

Rohan is an Accounts Assistant with a degree in Finance & Accounting from Brunel University London. Having joined Moorfield in 2022 he is responsible for maintaining and monitoring company accounts and transactions, whilst also providing support to Finance managers with business accounting activities. Rohan is currently working towards completing his ACCA qualification. Prior to joining Moorfield Rohan worked as an Accounts Assistant for a global talent management and production company.

Christine Brooker - Senior Executive Assistant

Christine has been Senior Executive Assistant to Marc Gilbard (CEO) since 1996 and is also the Office Manager. Christine has a background in office management and has previously worked at Co-ordinated Land and Estates and Frank Russell International.

Holley Caton - Senior Executive Assistant and Communications Manager

Holley joined Moorfield in 2012 and is the Senior Executive Assistant to Charles Ferguson Davie (Chief Investment Officer), Hugh Canham (Head of Asset Management), Heiko Figge (Head of Operational Management) and Sadie Malim (Head of Legal, ESG and Special Projects). Holley is also responsible for managing Moorfield’s Corporate and Asset Communications, Digital Media, Branding, Marketing, and Corporate Events.

Holley has an Executive PA Diploma and a Microcredential from The Open University in Business Management, Marketing Principles & Practice. She joined Moorfield from Northern & Shell Media where she was the Executive Assistant to the CEO and Board of the Health Lottery. Prior to this Holley worked for Express Newspapers where she was PA to the Daily Express Sports Editor and sports journalists.

Kayleigh Miller - Executive Assistant

Kayleigh joined Moorfield in 2018 and is the Executive Assistant to the Asset Managers and the Origination team. Kayleigh also assists with Moorfield’s corporate events. Prior to joining Moorfield, Kayleigh worked at Donnelley Financial Solutions as a Composition Operator.

Carol O'Hare

Carol is a former PWC tax partner with particular expertise in the tax implications of structuring UK real estate.
With a reputation for attention to detail and a joined up approach,  she advised a wide range of real estate clients including Property Funds, Property Investment companies, Local Authorities, Construction companies and some of the largest providers of social housing in the U.K.

Throughout her career, Carol has also been involved in a number of philanthropic organisations and vice chair of the Manchester YMCA Charity which undertakes significant work in the community with vulnerable young people.

Carlo Barel di Sant’Albano

Carlo Barel di Sant’Albano is Cushman & Wakefield’s Chief Executive, Global Capital Markets & Investor Services. Based in the US, he is responsible for driving all Capital Markets and Investor Services business and client activities in the US and globally.  Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield in 2011, Carlo served as Chief Executive Officer of EXOR, based in Turin, Italy. EXOR is one of the leading European investment firms, majority-owned by the Agnelli family.  In 1987, Carlo received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations at Brown University (Providence, Rhode Island) and subsequently, in 1992, completed his graduate studies at Harvard Business School (Cambridge, Massachusetts) where he earned an MBA.  Carlo has served on several boards, including EXOR (Italy), SGS S.A. (Switzerland), Juventus F.C. (Italy), Fiat S.p.A. (Italy) and Fondazione Giovanni Agnelli (Italy).

Ian Cox

Ian is the Executive Partner for UK, US and EMEA and became a member of the firm’s Global Executive Board in 2012.

Based in London Ian has extensive experience of commercial property and helps clients with all aspects of UK real estate with an emphasis on private equity investment, property finance and structured finance, including establishing alternative vehicles for property investment.

Ian regularly advises overseas investors entering the UK market. His expertise is sought by clients in industries as diverse as financial services and leisure and sport. His expertise in commercial property is highlighted by his recommendation in Chambers UK.
