The Cornmill Shopping Centre is Darlington’s dominant retail centre and was acquired in December 2006. The Centre is positioned within the prime retail area of Darlington which is a major commercial town in County Durham and the fourth most important retailing centre in the North-East of England after Newcastle, the Metrocentre (outside Newcastle) and Middlesborough.

The property is freehold and provides 220,000 sq ft of covered sales with ancillary and storage accommodation over two floors.  It was constructed in 1992 and the main centre comprises 58 retail units utilising a bridge link over Priestgate, creating one continuous mall at lower ground level and an additional lower ground retail floor.  There is also a 400 space car park located in the adjacent block bounded by Priestgate which also provides a 31,000 sq ft retail unit occupied by TK Maxx.
