Loughborough – January 2006
This key 1.9 acre site on Baxter Gate in the centre of Loughborough was acquired by MREF for the development of 595 rooms of student and key worker accommodation. The site is currently in planning, targeting completion in 2012.
Loughborough is a popular university town in Leicestershire and the university has approximately 15,000 students of which over 12,000 are full time. The site is within the town centre and is situated less than half a mile from the main university campus.
Queen's Road Student Village, Winchester – December 2006
This 1.3 acre site in Winchester forms part of the former Royal Hampshire Hospital site and was acquired by MREF for the development of a 400 room student scheme. The site is pre-let to the University of Winchester and completed in September 2010.
The site is within 10 minutes walk of the town centre and is ideally situated being contiguous with the main university campus. The University of Winchester has over 5,500 students and the Queen's Road Student Village is the largest private sector student accommodation scheme in the city.
