Moorfield Group, through its wholly owned subsidiary Moorfield Investment Management Limited, is regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and is a full member of the British Venture Capital Association (BVCA) and the European Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (EVCA).

Moorfield Group has a venture capital business investing equity and loan stock in real estate and real estate related corporate opportunities. The preferred holding period is three to seven years.

Moorfield Group invests in real estate and real estate related businesses. Specific areas include:
  • commercial real estate;
  • residential with critical mass, including retirement;
  • health and leisure, including sports facilities;
  • entertainment;
  • hotels and pubs/bars/restaurants;
  • healthcare including nursing homes;
  • business services;
  • transport and distribution;
  • waste management;
  • manufacturing, where there is a substantial real estate element.

Real estate, either owned or leased, is often a significant feature in a company's business. In addition to providing funds, Moorfield Group looks to add value by working with the management of companies on their real estate and related financial issues. This may include helping with maximising use and value of those properties or the identification of new sites or buildings for acquisition or advising on lease negotiations or planning issues etc. Asset specific financing is also an area of Moorfield Groups expertise.

Many sources of equity finance have a stated policy of avoiding investment in real estate or real estate related businesses but Moorfield Group can work alongside owners, financiers and other related parties to isolate and manage the perceived real estate risk.

 
Nature of Investment and Investment Size
 

Moorfield Group provides finance for expansion and development of investment opportunities (including start-ups), MBOs, MBIs and IBOs, public to private and financing exit transactions.

Ordinarily the percentage equity stake taken by Moorfield Group will be between 20% and 50% but investments outside this range will be considered.

The minimum size of Moorfield Group's investment is £1-2 million. The maximum size is open.
